Friends & Family Events

Our strongest relationships are with our friends & family, and they are often our highest-risk relationships. These are relationships we cherish the most, yet we usually avoid starting a dialogue about faith and salvation for fear of upsetting the status quo. Gilgal Christian Center believes in and uses the power of relationships to transform lives and systems. We believe in our long-term obligation to put our loved ones first through built-in adaptable systems and activities to meet the individual requirements of our members, friends, and families.

We believe that developing a strong ethnic and social identity is remarkably critical and healthy for forming a more just and tolerant society with our members and friends. This is reflected in many ways in our church activities, from having robust racial diversity embodied at all levels of management in the church to highlighting the achievements and leadership of our people of color for our children to teaching our leaders how to foster positive racial and cultural identity with others.

We organize family and friends’ programs twice a year, in spring and summer, where we reach out to the communities where we are located for an evening fun time with food, music, and play while sharing the Word of the Lord.
