Gilgal Christian Center is not only a church and a prayer center, but a community of believers who selflessly pool their resources together to make a difference in the lives of others for the sake of Christ. The mission of Gilgal Christian Center is succinctly captured in the personal testimony of its founder and General Overseer, Pastor Dr. Jerry Udoh:

“Sometime in 2004, during a very trying time in my life, I bowed my head on my office desk. My mind wandering aimlessly, I looked forward and saw an old rusty Bible lying on the desk. It was not mine. It probably belonged to a client of mine who came a while back to share with me his battles with the enemy.

All I can recall now is how I saw myself idly flipping through the pages, not sure what I was looking for in particular. When I got to Matthew 23:25, for some reason I was able to understand only later, I could not take my fingers away from it. I had to force myself to read it, something I had done tons of times in the past. The only difference is that this time I had a new and different understanding. Call it revelation, inspiration, or whatever. That day, I knew the Lord has opened a new ministry for me”.

The mission of Gilgal Christian Center is rooted in Matthew 23:25:

“For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

The mission, therefore, is to bring about salvation as a total package to the people throughout the world by:

  • Reaching the un-reached with the gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
  • Showing the love of God by providing the much-needed help to the poor and the needy in our society
  • Setting those who are spiritually challenged free from satanic manipulations through the power of intervening prayer
